MICHIGAN GOOD SAM NEWSLETTER
December 2010

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

May everyone have a happy holiday season!  We are preparing to turn things over to Ron Clapp and getting ready to become snowbirds the first of the year. We have enjoyed being directors over the last 6 years and made many new friends. We can now sit back, relax, and enjoy being in chapters again. We will miss working with the chapters and those close friends from staff.

Otisville with full hook ups and the smell of campfires was a fun week. We did have some rain but no one really got stuck. Wish to thank our host chapter Bobbin Robins chapter 15, Millennium Sams chapter 91 and Nautical Sams chapter 96 for all their hard work along with all those good people who volunteer. A very heartfelt thanks to the Michigan Good Sam Color Guard for there 6 years of opening our Samborees thru some very hard times with the loss of some special members. We also want to thank Doyle Dennings and his staff of Covenant Hills for all their had work. A special thanks and congratulation to Sue Peterson the office manager who we worked closely with and her addition of a baby on Saturday while we were there. Next year Samborees will be Summer - June 23-26, 2011at Ogemaw County Fairgrounds outside West Branch and Fall - September 15-18, 2011 back at Covenant Hills camp in Otisville

We do suggest chapters review the new revised State By-Laws, which were tabled at the Otisville state committee meeting, between now and the committee meeting at West Branch for inputs from all the state membership. The committee worked hard on some needed changes so review and come to the meeting ready to go to work and get the revisions approved. If you need copies, please contact the state director for additional copies.

Snowbird luncheons will be for Winter Texans it will be on Tuesday Feb. 01. 2011 at 11:30AM, at Nomad Shriners Club, on Nolana Loop, Pharr, TX. The Florida will be Feb.24, 2011 at 1 PM at the Golden Corral 4705 North U.S. 98 in Lakeland, FL, which is north of I-4 exit 32.  Please meet in front of the building so we all can go in together. Please wear a name badge with vest or Good Sam Shirt.
